Georgia Medievalists Group Fall Mtg

Updated: Oct 6, 2020

This in from Jonathan Good:

As you may recall from last spring, we were set to hold our meeting right when the virus hit. We said that we were postponing and not canceling it, and I’m pleased to announce that all speakers from March 15 have agreed to participate in a GMG meeting by Zoom on Saturday, October 31. We will be sending out invitations closer to the event. Below, please find a revised schedule for the day. We hope you can participate! Updates should appear HERE.

Wendy Turner, Augusta University: “Disability, Illness, and Retirement in Medieval England: Connections?”

Andrew Kurt, Clayton State University: “Prester John’s Multi-lateral Battlefront in the Horn of Africa and Da Gama’s Rescue Mission”

Lunch break

Christina Heckman, Augusta University: “Wooden Shadows: Materia and Carpentry in Early English Culture”

Geneva Diamond, Dodge City Community College: “The Alexander Romance and the Development of Chivalry”

Ken Johnston, History Now: “The De Soto Expedition of 1540: A Living History Interpretation of Primary Source Documentation”
