Frank, fearless, truth-seeking, ... those are some of the words coming to mind to our Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts students as they listened to Christiane Amanpour, the world-renowned CNN journalist and recipient of the Ivan Allen Jr. Prize for Social Courage, named after the Atlanta major after whom our College is named, too. Amanpour took extra time before the institute-wide events to meet with a small group of our students, stressing to them the importance of the humanities, communication, and verifiable information and data.
