One of the most rewarding moments at the beginning of any academic year is New Faculty Orientation. This year, we created a brand new program, which included a mix of engaging formats, including an administrative ops panel, a presentation about Atlanta Mayor Ivan Allen Jr. (our college is named after him) and his legacy of social courage, a roundtable on "DEI in our DNA," and a networking lunch. And, as you can see in the photo, Buzz dropped by to play! Biggest reward: One of the participants told us that, although they had been afraid of wasting their time, they were excited to join a college that leaves no doubt about its foundational values and cherishes all ranks and appointment types among its new hires.
